Like many musicians I started singing and playing music in church and in junior high/high school at events. It seemed that music was a great way to meet other people and make new friends or at least gain attention. I grew up in Wayne County Ohio, graduating from Rittman High School and then going on to college at The University of Akron, completing a BA in Mass Media Communication. This allowed me to work in radio for a short time and I also worked a number of years in a family hardware store before accepting a position with The Ohio State University as an Admissions Counselor. I eventually completed a MA in Higher Education Administration and for many years worked as an Academic Advisor at Ohio State, retiring in 2018.

Retirement has allowed me to return to my music endeavors and it has been a wonderful experience of meeting new people, making new friends and often enjoying the beautiful settings of wineries, restaurants and festival throughout the state. I am quickly approaching performing my 200th gig since returning to music and look forward to many more.
